Project Manager – Strengthening Innovations and Partnerships for Mature Community Savings and Credit Groups

Purpose of Position
IIRR desires to hire a Project Manager who will lead, administer and organise all project activities in cooperation with and under the leadership of the Programs Director. The Project Manager will oversee the implementation of the Strengthening, Innovations and partnerships for Mature Community Savings and Credit Groups in Mid Northern Region. and Business Partnership Development.
Project implementation/Leadership Offer overall leadership to project execution Develop and monitor the implementation of annual and quarterly consolidated work plans, procurement plans and budgets in line with project goals/objectives
Provide technical support to team in making annual and quarterly activity work plans and budgets and ensure the plans are executed as scheduled Coordinate business linkages and establishment of sustainable linkages with economic operators
Coordinate activities for strengthening operations of mature community Savings and Credit Groups
Coordinate innovations for savings accumulation, re-investment and carryover stimulation
Monitor and track project’s progress and handle any issues that arise Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports Manage the translation of plans into operations and monitor their implementation Monitor and supervise timely and quality implementation of project annual plans and targets Act as the point of contact and communicate project status adequately to all participants Share recommendations for improvements for future planning cycle (partnerships, project locations); Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase.
Develop fundable proposals in collaboration with other IIRR members and other key stakeholders for the sustainability of various programs in the region in line with IIRR strategic objectives
Review and monitor sub-granting processes among implementing partners and follow-up accountability of the grants
Partnerships, Networking and Advocacy Develop and maintain strategic partnerships and networks with district key stakeholders and other partner organizations involved in programs and advocate for comprehensive,
relevant and harmonized interventions in the region in line with various program objectives and Central and Local Governments. Represent IIRR in local, national and international forums Facilitate staff capacity enhancement on aspects of partnering, collaboration and networking
Resource Management and Accountability Ensure periodic reports are written and shared with relevant stakeholders in time and in agreed formats Ensure assets and equipment are prudently utilised and well maintained according to policy and set guidelines Implement policies that promote accountability of resources Use project management tools to monitor budget, plans and expenditure Manage budget according to project budget expenditure within planned time frame and approved budgets Monitor and manage over or under spending in a timely manner in line with standards Ensure adherence to financial management and accountability in line with policy guidelines Risk management – Monitor and address or report any risks to management Ensure appropriate filing and availability of documents required for internal and external communications, accountability, audits, and evaluation purposes and reporting
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience Masters degree in any of the following disciplines; Entrepreneurship Development Studies, Business Administration, Project Planning and Management, Community Development, Banking, Social Sciences or a related field Minimum 5 years relevant experience with a recognized organization including extensive experience in management and credit Savings Groups. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and to build and maintain office cohesion Ability to coordinate training programs, community saving schemes, and other entrepreneurship skills
Ability to work independently and to take initiative Good communication and reporting skills in English Computer skills: Microsoft Office, internet communications Fluency in language(s) in region of operation Demonstrated ability to work in a team; strong interpersonal skills
Willingness to travel extensively in region of assignment
