Position : Field Logistician Responsible to: Field Administrator Location : Dadaab (Non family duty station) Closing Date : 5th July , 2017

THE POSITION He/she will carry out the logistic function implementation of the necessary requirements for the smooth-running of the programme in compliance with Handicap International’s internal regulations.
He/she will be responsible for:-
1. Management of Procurement and Supply Chain by: Participating in setting the procurement plan setting in collaboration with Logistic Manager/Logistics Officer in Nairobi and Project Staffs Analyzing the local market and keep an up-to-dated database of local and regional suppliers that satisfy the association’s criteria (quality, price, service, ethics) and needs Organizing Local procurement process in line with HI purchasing procedures to ensure accountability and transparency
2. Fleet management by: Implementing rules for the management of vehicles and other means of transport Organizing Vehicle allocation and monitoring the vehicle logbook movement Following up vehicle maintenance, repair and other servicing required
3. Responsible for proper management of HI’s equipment and timely update of inventory Organizing the equipment allocation in collaboration with LO and Area Manager Organizing the installation, maintenance, monitoring and traceability of equipment (computer, power-supply, communication, etc.)
4. Preparation of logistic’s monthly reports Archiving logistics folders for each logistic functions both manually and electronically.
Submitting the relevant monthly reports of base or functions to the LO.
NB: Kindly note that this is a short term contract
Qualifications and skills required
Essential Education At least a Diploma in logistics or related discipline Experience Practical experience of 2 years as a logistician in an NGO setting Attributes Organization skills Team animation Communication skills Problem solving Innovative
English English Office Automation Autonomous on basic functionalities: Operating system Word Excel
