Post: Project Officer
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
We are seeking an experienced Project Officer to provide programmatic and project management support to the Country Representative and partners ensuring that projects are designed, planned, implemented, monitored, evaluated and reported in accordance with Tearfund’s Quality Standards & within Tearfund’s management systems.
The scope of the role involves project cycle management, capacity development & learning, project controls, Management Information System and finance at country level, and provides support for Church & Community Mobilization Process.
This role requires a candidate with at least a degree qualification in Social Development or equivalent. Being specialised in project management, monitoring & evaluation and financial/budget management is desirable.
The incumbent will have proven experience in project design, management and evaluation, working and supporting partners in M&E and capacity building. Experience with either national/local/church based NGOs and use of community mobilization approaches will be an added advantage.
To perform this job successfully, the candidate should demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical, reporting and be competent in IT skills. Good organisation, prioritization, capacity building and training skills with ability to work under pressure and competing timelines. Be able to work independently, show initiative, as well as being part of a team. Demonstrate excellent inter-personal skills with an understanding and sensitivity to cross cultural issues. Ability to travel and a holder of a current drivers licence.
This role requires a committed Christian and must also be committed to the outworking of Tearfund’s Missions, Values and Belief’s statement.
